Terms of Use

1. My Central Registry (hereinafter referred to as "MCR") will maintain a record of online postings of births, deaths, memorials and miscellaneous announcements (hereinafter referred to as "notices").

2. MCR will maintain a record of online guest book entries (hereinafter referred to as "entries") in relation to the notices posted on the MCR site.

3. In exchange for a fee of $99.99 CDN, plus applicable taxes, MCR will post a birth or death notice, memorial or miscellaneous announcement, up to 750 words, pursuant to instructions received from the client. The notice will be posted within 24 hours of receipt of payment from the client. The one year term begins from the day the notice is posted, not from receipt of payment for the said notice.

4. In exchange for a fee of $14.99 CDN, plus applicable taxes, MCR will post a notice for your pet, up to 750 words, including births, deaths, memorials or miscellaneous announcements, pursuant to instructions received from the client. The notice will be posted within 24 hours of receipt of payment from the client. The one year term begins from the day the notice is posted, not from receipt of payment for the said notice.

5. From time to time MCR will offer promotions for free or discounted postings on their website.  These promotions will be offered at the sole discretion of MCR and may be discontinued at any time without notice.  MCR assumes no liability or responsibility for the loss, theft or misuse of any promotional item and further notes that promotional items have no cash value. 

6. After the notice has been on our website for a period of one year, in exchange for a fee of $24.99 CDN, plus applicable taxes, and shipping and handling, MCR will create a DVD of a loved one or special event pursuant to instructions from the person or persons who posted the notice. This DVD may include photos, music and text to celebrate the life or special event of a loved one. The option to purchase this service will be made available from the date of the initial posting of the notice and shall run continuously up to and including the last day of the one year term of the notice, and will continue to be made available for purchase as long as the notice remains on the MCR website.

7. There will be absolutely no refunds once payment is received for the creation of the DVD.

8. Any information contained in the notices or entries posted on the My Central Registry website (hereinafter referred to as the "site") will be available to the public.

9. All notices and entries submitted to MCR will be viewed by the MCR staff prior to posting on the MCR site and may be edited for content and space and are subject to final approval by the staff prior to posting on the site.

10. There will be absolutely no use of any profanity or vulgarity when posting a notice on the MCR site and furthermore, any profanity, vulgarity or inappropriate comments will be edited by the staff at MCR prior to the notice being posted on the MCR site.

11. Due to the nature of our business, MCR is unable to provide refunds of any kind once payment is received and a notice has been posted on the MCR site.

12. Typographical errors of any notice or entry posted on the MCR site will be rectified within 24 hours of notification by the client to the staff, and do not constitute a refund, whether partial or whole, to the client.

13. Should a client wish to have their notice or entries removed from the MCR site, the onus is on the client to contact the staff at MCR by e-mail only, requesting removal of the notice and, or, entries. Any request for the removal of a notice and or entries will be done within 48 hours of such request.

14. It is the expectation of the staff at MCR that if a client is dissatisfied with any of the services provided by MCR or from the MCR site, then the client or clients will contact the staff at MCR either by telephone at 416-806-6146 or by email at mail@mycentralregistry.com, without delay.

15. MCR can at any time increase or decrease the fee charged for the posting of online notices however, this fee will not apply for existing postings.

16. MCR will not be held responsible for power outages or network problems, which may include but are not limited to delayed or disrupted service from the network or server that affect the client's ability to access the notices or entries.

17. MCR is not responsible or liable for any unauthorized use by any persons other than the staff at MCR or any persons deemed to have authorized use by the staff at MCR.

18. MCR shall not be held liable or be held responsible in any way whatsoever for any damages, whether special, consequential, incidental or indirect arising out of any notice or notices or any entry or entries posted on the MCR site.

19. MCR reserves the right at any time, for whatever reason deemed necessary to update, modify, amend, revise or alter the terms of use without prior notice and any such modifications shall become effective from the date they appear on the MCR site.

20. We encourage communication from our clients for the purpose of addressing their questions or concerns and will provide customer service either by telephone or e-mail. We endeavour to respond to any inquiries within 24 hours. However, if circumstances beyond our control prevent us from providing a response to a client, MCR will not be held liable or responsible for any delay or delays, which may include but are not limited to Internet Service Provider ("ISP") interruptions, illness, natural disasters, high volume of emails and or telephone calls and or voice mail messages.

21. MCR reserves the right to modify or discontinue the service of the MCR site at any time. In the event MCR permanently discontinues the services of the MCR site, the balance of any monies paid for the remaining period for which they were paid or any monies paid for any services which have not yet been received, will be reimbursed to the client or clients within 60 days of discontinuation of the service, in the same method by which they were paid. MCR will notify by e-mail, any client who is owed any monies for outstanding services prior to reimbursement of any outstanding monies. In the event that MCR is unable to contact any client or clients using the contact information MCR has on file, MCR will make every reasonable attempt to contact the client or clients for the purpose of reimbursement.
